Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.” But he said, “I am he!”
Others said, It is he: others said, No, but he is like him. He said, I am he.
Some said, “It is he.” Still others said, “No, but he looks like him.” But he kept saying, “I am the man.”
Some said, It is he. Others said, No, but he looks very much like him. But he said, Yes, I am the man.
Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
Some said, “He’s the one.” Others were saying, “No, but he looks like him.” He kept saying, “I’m the one.”
Some said, “It is,” and others said, “No, it’s someone who looks like him.” But the man said, “Yes, it’s me!”
Some said, “Yes, he’s the one”; while others said, “No, but he looks like him.” However, he himself said, “I’m the one.”
Some of them said he was the same beggar, while others said he only looked like him. But he told them, “I am that man.”
Some said, It is he; others said, No, but he is like him: *he* said, It is I.
Others were saying that “This is he”. Others were saying, “No, but he is like him”. That one was saying that “I am he”.
But others said: No, but he is like him. But he said: I am he.
Some people said, “Yes! He is the one.” But others said, “No, he can’t be the same man. He only looks like him.” So the man himself said, “I am that same man.”
Some people said, ‘Yes, it is him.’ But other people said, ‘No, it is someone who seems to be like him.’ But the man himself said, ‘I am that man.’
Some said, “He is the one.” Others said, “No, but he looks like him.” He kept saying, “I am the one!”
Some said, “It is he.” Others said, “No, but he is like him.” He kept saying, “I am the man.”

Some said, This is he: and others said, He is like him: but he himself said, I am he.
Some of them said, “He’s the one.” Others said, “No, he isn’t, but he looks like him.” But the man himself said, “I am the one.”
Some said, “He is the one,” but others said, “No he isn't; he just looks like him.” So the man himself said, “I am the man.”
Some said, “He’s the one.” “No,” others were saying, “but he looks like him.” He kept saying, “I’m the one!”
Some said, “Yes! He is the one.” But others said, “No, he’s not the same man. He only looks like him.” So the man himself said, “I am the man.”
Some were saying, “It’s him,” while others were saying, “No, but it’s someone like him.” But he himself kept saying, “It’s me!”
“Yes, that’s the one,” said some. Others said, “No, but he’s very like him.” But he himself said, “I’m the man all right!”
Some said, This is he; others said, He is like him; but he said, I am he.
Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
Others were saying, “This is he,” still others were saying, “No, but he is like him.” He kept saying, “I am the one.”
Others were saying, “It is this man”; others were saying, “No, but he is like him.” That one was saying, “I am he!”
Some said yes, and some said no. “It can’t be the same man,” they thought, “but he surely looks like him!” And the beggar said, “I am the same man!”
Others said, “It’s him all right!” But others objected, “It’s not the same man at all. It just looks like him.” He said, “It’s me, the very one.”
Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.” But he said, “I am he.”
Some said, “He is the one.” Others said, “No, but he looks like him.” But he himself kept saying, “I am the man.”

Others were saying, “This is he,” still others were saying, “No, but he is like him.” He kept saying, “I am the one.”
Some were saying, “Yes, this is the same man,” but others insisted, “No. It simply is someone who looks like him.” He said, “I am the man.”
Some said, “He is the one,” but others said, “No, he only looks like him.” The man himself said, “I am the man.”
Some people said, “This is the man!” while others said, “No, but he looks like him.” The man himself kept insisting, “I am the one!”
Some claimed that he was. Others said, “No. He only looks like him.” But the man who had been blind kept saying, “I am the man.”
Some claimed that he was. Others said, “No, he only looks like him.” But he himself insisted, “I am the man.”

“Yes, it’s him!” said some of them. “No, it isn’t!” said some others. “It’s somebody like him.” But the man himself spoke. “Yes, it’s me,” he said.

“This is the one!” some said. “No, but it looks like him,” said others. But the man himself kept saying, “I am!”
Others: This is the same man. Still Others: This cannot be him. But this fellow bears an uncanny resemblance to the blind man. Formerly Blind Man: I am the same man. It’s me!
Others were saying, “It is he.” Still others were saying, “He looks like him.” He said, “I am he.”
Some people said, `Yes, this is the same man.' Others said, `He is like that man.' But the man himself said, `I am that man.'
Other men said, That this it is; and other men said, Nay, but he is like him. But he said, I am [he].
others said -- `This is he;' and others -- `He is like to him;' he himself said, -- `I am [he].'
